Adam Gilchrist won the toss and decided that the Deccan Chargers will bat first in a crucial game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Gilchrist said that the side was struggling with the injuries and would  go in with many changes to the side. Anirudh Singh, Venugopal Rao, Dwayne Smith and Rahul Sharma were all being brought into the playing eleven.

Kumble also made three changes to the side as B Akhil, Nayan Doshi (son of former cricketer Dilip Doshi) and Cameron White came into the side.

Sachin Tendulkar injured his finger webbing of the right hand and required five stitches to it in the semi-final game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. While the Mumbai Indians did go on to win the match, Sachin Tendulkar may end up missing the IPL final.

It has been reported that the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians to be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium will now be played at 5.00 pm local time, instead of the 4.00 pm start. This was revealed after there were two low-intensity blasts that took place outside the Chinnaswamy stadium.
