Lalit Modi, the IPL’s suspended chairman has decided not to attend the meeting called by the BCCI’s disciplinary committee to hear his case out. The disciplinary committee consists of Arun Jaitley, Chirayu Amin and Jyotiarditya Scindia.

IPL chief Lalit Modi was at the receiving end of a judgement by the High Court who rejected his petition which had asked for an independent probe instead of the disciplinary committee that was set-up by the BCCI. Suspended IPL chief, Modi’s lawyers had called the disciplinary committee biased and filed a case in the High Court.

IPL’s suspended chairman, Lalit Modi has appealed to the High Court to suppress the BCCI’s disciplinary proceedings against him. Modi has also asked the court to appoint a committee consisting of representatives which are mutually acceptable to both the parties, the BCCI and Modi.

The Indian cricket board’s President, Shashank Manohar, has refuted the allegations that the interim IPL chairman, Chirayu Amin was a part of the consortium which bid for the IPL Pune side. Manohar said that Amin wanted to only invest in the City Corporation Ltd in case, the bid became successful.

As it had turned out, City Corporation Ltd. had lost the bid to Sahara Group.

IPL’s suspended commissioner Lalit Modi was in for more trouble as the BCCI sent him a third notice, asking him to explain why had he undersold the theater rights for the broadcasting the tournament, and why had he sold the ad-slots in between the overs. It is expected that Modi will reply back to the allegations, both these and the previous charge on the same day.

Suspended IPL chairman, Lalit Modi, has asked the Indian cricket board President Shashank Manohar and the secretary, N Srinivasan to appoint an independent panel to judge on his suspension. Both, Manohar and Srinivasan are supposed to sit in that panel that decides the future of Modi in the IPL Governing Council.

The Indian cricket board has said that it will allow an extension of ten days for suspended chairman of the IPL, Lalit Modi, to reply to the second show-cause that was sent to him by BCCI.
