Ganguly wins toss, will bat first
Sourav Ganguly has won the toss and decided to bat first in the 48th match of the third edition of the IPL against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk in Chennai.
Kolkata drop many catches against Bangalore
The Kolkata Knight Riders had a horrid time on the field when they dropped many catches on the field in their game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bangalore.
Sourav Ganguly was the first culprit, when he floored a sitter at the mid-off position off the bat of Jacques Kallis. Ganguly only managed to tip the ball over the bar.
This was followed by a brilliant running effort by Cheteshwar Pujara at the sweeper boundary, but despite getting a hand, he failed to catch the ball.
Soon, Ajit Agarkar also dropped one from S Sriram that went straight down his throat, but popped out of his hands. Captain Ganguly would have had a lot to say, but given that he had himself dropped a sitter, he preferred to keep quiet.
In the end, Ishant Sharma kept circling under a reverse sweep that Robin Uthappa played against Ajantha Mendis but could not get a hand to it at all.
All of it led to the side winning with almost three overs to spare!
