Murali Vijay wins Golden Bat award for Champions League T20
Murali Vijay won the Golden Bat award for scoring the most number of runs in the Champions League T20 in the 2010 edition of the tournament. Vijay pipped the Warriors captain Davy Jacobs for the Golden Stumps award.
Jacobs and Vijay were both in the race at the start of the final of the Champions League T20. Jacobs had started the game on 252 runs, while Vijay was on 236, both having played five games.
Jacobs started off well in the final against Chennai but fell after the introduction of the spinner, R Ashwin. He scored 34 to push his total tournament runs to 286.
That meant that Vijay had to score 51 runs to win the Golden Stumps award, and he ensured that he went on to hit his half century to overtake the Warriors captain.
