Wayamba bowler Isuru Udana took the first hat-trick of the Champions League T20 when he got three wickets off three balls against the Central Stags at St. George’s park in Port Elizabeth.

Wayamba batted first and scored 144/6 in their 20 overs, on a track that looked like good for much more. However, chasing 145 for a win, the Stags were in early trouble when Ajantha Mendis sent back Jamie How in the second over.

However, it was Isuru Udana’s second over and the third of the innings which was the first hat-trick in Champions League T20. Udana first had Brad Patton edge on to his pads and to the wicket-keeper for a simple catch off the third ball. Off the next ball, Sinclair over-balanced and was stumped off a wide, while the Gary Worker was bowled off the very next ball for duck.
