Veena Malik alleges she has proof that Asif fixed matches
Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who was also the former girlfriend of Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif has said that his ex-boyfriend was involved in match-fixing and she had proof to prove so.
Veena Malik also said that Asif was in touch with bookies from India and she could prove so. She added that Asif was in constant touch with an Indian photographer, Dheeraj Dikshit, who ended up paying him for spot-fixing.
Malik said, “Asif used to call up this Indian bookmaker and other bookies as well on the phone of his servant. I have evidence of the messages he exchanged with the bookies,”
Earlier, Veena Malik and Asif had had a very publicised break-up after being in a relationship for a long time, because Asif married a girl that his parents chose for him.
Asif and some of the other Pakistani cricketers have been named in an alleged spot-fixing controversy when an alleged match-fixer Mazhar Majeed named him as one of those who will do as he said. Asif was expected to bowl a no-ball off the last ball of the tenth over, which he had done.
Dixit denied the allegations saying that Malik had approached him to fix matches and he had tried to extract more information from her and get a story out of that.
