Criminal case could be brought on Modi

It has been reported that criminal proceedings will be brought out against the suspended IPL chairman Lalit Modi, for his alleged role in the financial fraud committed by him in the first three years of the IPL.

Modi had been suspended as the chairman of the IPL immediately after the third IPL and a disciplinary committee has been appointed to hear his case. So far, he has missed all the three meetings that have been held and his lawyers have been appointed to represent him.

However, if the criminal proceedings are brought about against him, then, Modi will have to attend the proceedings. Modi is currently out of the country, having expressed a threat to his security.

The case that will be brought about against him could be the one in which the WSG was offered a sum of money to get the deal from IPL.
