India need to restrict Sri Lanka to 143 to qualify for semi-finals
India scored 163/5 in their 20 overs against Sri Lanka at St. Lucia. This means that Sri Lanka now needs 144 to knock the Indians out of the tournament. This is obviously assuming that Australia beat West Indies in the last game.
India were given a rousing start after Dinesh Karthik was dismissed, with both Gautam Gambhir and Suresh Raina getting to good scores. Unfortunately, the Indians could not capitalize on that start, as they failed to get their timing through the entire duration of the game.
India will now need to restrict the Sri Lanka to 143 to help get their net run-rate above the net run-rate of Sri Lanka.
