Update:
India’s chances of qualifications for the semi-finals of the ICC World T20 cricket tournament are hanging by a thread. Very bleak.
In fact, after India lost to West Indies in the cricket match yesterday, all it required for them to be knocked out was for Sri Lanka to beat Australia. However, Australia beat Sri Lanka by a huge margin, which meant that India still has an outside chance.
The mathematics work out as follows:
India needs to beat the Sri Lankans by a margin of 21 runs or more, and then, they have to hope that Australia beats West Indies by any margin and the Indians should be through to the semi-finals.
Similarly, if India field first, something that they have been doing in the Super Eights, they need to knock the runs off in 17.3 overs to go above Sri Lanka in the net run-rate and then hope that Australia beats West Indies.
Sounds simple? Think India can make it to the semi-finals?
