Sahara wins bid to sponsor Indian cricket team

The Sahara Group has won the bid to continue as the sponsor of the Indian cricket team after they bid for a sum of Rs. 3.34 crores per game, equivalent to $719,000, as compared to Bharti Airtel’s bid of Rs 2.89 crore ($628, 260) per match.

Zimbabwe beat India in the opening game of the tri-series at Bulwayao by six wickets and with ten balls to spare. It was a second-string Indian team alright, but the win was well deserved for Zimbabwe, especially given that they were chasing down 286 for a win.
