Lalit Modi may step down as IPL chief: ToI
The Times of India has reported that the Indian Premier League commissioner Lalit Modi is likely to take a decision to quit the post of the chairman of the IPL at the end of the tournament on 25th of April.
The Times of India has also said that the cricket board members are angry about the various controversies surrounding Lalit Modi. With the Congress having sacrificed Shashi Tharoor as one of their ministers, it is evident that they will not let go of the matter against Modi so easily as well, and have put the BCCI in a spot of bother.
BCCI president Shashank Manohar has also flown to Delhi to have a meeting with former cricket board chief Sharad Pawar. Pawar is one of the few IPL members and politicians who is backing Modi and hence the meeting assumes significant importance.
Thanks to Modi’s tweeting against the Congressman, Shashi Tharoor, the entire BCCI has come under IT department’s tax scanner. It is also said that the IPL chief Modi has allegedly assisted his family and friends in getting the stake in not only IPL teams but also various deals.
