TIMES NOW sources: Modi powers may be curtailed

TV news channel, TIMES NOW has reported that its sources have said that the BCCI may pass a resolution to remove Lalit Modi from his post as the IPL chief. This may happen at the next meeting in the BCCI.

It has been reported that the source has said that the BCCI president Shashank Manohar was not in favour of Lalit Modi and did not approve of his way of functioning. According to some sources, BCCI is likely to do that on May 2.

Earlier the BCCI had postponed its meeting that was planned for Saturday. This was confirmed by the cricket board who said that the IPL Governing Council meeting is expected to be convened soon to discuss threadbare all the issues on hand, including the controversy around the Kochi franchisee bought by a consortium Rendezvous Sports World Limited.

The meeting could curtail Lalit Modi’s powers as the chief of the IPL.

Earlier, Congress minister, Shashi Tharoor handed over his resignation to the Prime Minister and it was accepted for his part in the controversy surrounding the issue.
