Manmohan Singh to decide on Tharoor issue after meeting him

On his return from the USA, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that he will have a meeting with Shashi Tharoor before deciding on the further course of action. Tharoor has been involved in a controversy over the new IPL team of Kochi with Lalit Modi.

The PM also said that he cannot go by hearsay on the matter, and that disturbances in the Parliament due to the IPL-Tharoor controversy was a part of politics. Earlier, even Sonia Gandhi had met up with Shashi Tharoor and heard his side of the story out, but it has been reported in news channel that the party was not too convinced about the free-stake issue to Sunanda Pushkar.

Earlier, the Income Tax officials, who had also gone to the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) to survey the accounting records have given a clean chit to the PCA. They have said that there was nothing incriminating found at the PCA office.

They also explained that the reason why they had visited the PCA offices is because they had found that the back-up of the records in the Mumbai office were kept in the PCA office.
