Lalit Modi on the backfoot as BCCI meet without him
It was reported in the media on Saturday that all the head honchos of the BCCI went into a huddle at Dharamshala during the game between the Deccan Chargers and the Kings XI Punjab, but Lalit Modi was not invited for the meeting.
In a move that looks to confirm the belief that all is not well within the BCCI camp, the likes of Shashank Manohar, Niranjan Shah and Rajiv Shukla met up for discussing the current enquiry on the BCCI office by the IT officials, but failed to invite Modi for the same.
Earlier, Shashank Manohar, the BCCI chief had also asked Modi not to openly talk about the Kochi franchise issue, but Modi has not reigned in his verbals. Both, Modi and Shashi Tharoor have been taking each other heads-on and alleged and counter-alleged. Modi has gone on to say that he will sue the Kochi franchise – or some of them anyway – for saying that he tried to bribe them a sum of $50 million to try and give up the franchise.
There are reports in the Times of India that say that the BCCI has said that in case Modi did go on to sue the franchise, he will have to do it on his own and that the BCCI will not support him to settle personal scores.
