How many pot-boilers have had almost $350 million changing hands, the most recognizable sports administrators locking horns with a Parliamentarian, before being admonished by his own cricket board and then have Income Tax officers whispering sweet nothings in his ears through the entire duration of a night, the Parliamentarian fending questions from the PMO, enduring an adjourned Parliament, awaiting the arrival of the PM, while the cricket board decides on the future course of action, a new head for the biggest cricket tournament in centuries, even as Chief Ministers of two states, another Union Minister and former board chief, businessmen from everywhere, a businesswoman from Dubai allege and counter-allege in a backdrop of a reasonably exciting cricket tournament, all in a matter of a compact, four days?
I also hear Wasim Akram complain of ball-tampering in the tournament. Something like complaining of a plumbing issue even as the entire building collapses.
Match-fixing move over, as should Sania, Shoaib and Woh, here comes the Baap of Manoranjan. The Grandfather in fact.
On other issues, I wonder whether the businessman in Modi had had the minutes up his sleeve to think of this. How about auctioning the passes to the boardroom of the BCCI when they meet to discuss the future course of action? Why should those interested, wish to unrealistically end up just being mere flies on the wall?
If those so-called VIP enclosures in the stadium could be sold off for 30k bucks, if Freddie Flintoff could rest at home for a million and a half, then one can be rest assured that enough ‘fans’ and corporations would give more than a hand and a leg – and not only proverbially! – to get into the room.
As an afterthought, Ramu would have, by now, begun production of his new movie. (of course, don’t need to say this; after buying the rights from Modi)

I promise, I swear, I will never complain the next time Rahul Dravid scores a 25 off 100 balls on a flat track at Nagpur, or Javagal Srinath bowls 20 wicketless overs filled with short balls on green pitches or Indian batsmen collapse to 150 on the first day at Wanderers or lose their umpteenth final to Sri Lanka, thanks to Chaminda Vaas, at Colombo or capitulate in an ODI after Tendulkar gets dismissed or….sigh.
Please give me those days. Please. Give me some Sunshine. And some moth-less matches.
