It has been reported in the Times of India that the IPL chief, Lalit Modi was questioned for about seven to eight hours over the finances related to the tournament, and most specifically to the two new teams in question, on Friday.
I-T officials visited IPL headquarters at Wankhede Stadium and Modi’s office in Worli, where they questioned him from 7.15 pm to 3.20 am.
Later, Modi denied that he was questioned for that much time and said that he was spoken to for only 15-20 minutes and he added, “they wanted to know formally IPL’s position on the bidders and the related issues. We explained it to them. They wanted all the relevant papers and to collect those relevant papers from 2-3 different places, it took some time”
Modi also said that the questioning was over in a few minutes but they were there for much longer because they had to go through all the documents. He has also said that it was just an enquiry and not a raid.
