Mumbai wins toss, elect to bat first

Sachin Tendulkar won the toss in their game against Delhi Daredevils at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. They decided to bat first, which was always going to be the case, given the heat and the humidity in the city of Mumbai.

The Mumbai Indians have gone into the side with Dilhara Fernando coming into the side in place of Lasith Malinga, Dwayne Bravo comes in place of Sanath Jayasuriya and Ali Murtuza and the wicket-keeper Chandan Madan comes into the playing eleven.

For Delhi, AB de Villiers comes in place of Farveez Maharoof, whereas Andrew McDonald in place of Daniel Vettori. Sarabjit Ladda also makes it back to the side.

Mumbai has already qualified for the semi-finals with their eighth win over the Rajasthan Royals, whereas Delhi has six wins and 12 points from the 11 games that they have played. Delhi’s other two games in the tournament are against Chennai and Deccan Chargers.

Kings XI Punjab had beaten Delhi in the previous game on a low-scoring pitch at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
