Kumble criticises Kallis for slow batting

Anil Kumble, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, has criticised Jacques Kallis’ batting in the game against the Deccan Chargers and said that his inability to get a move on cost his side the game.

Kallis struggled to get through to a 37-ball 27 and despite Rahul Dravid’s smacking innings of 49, the Royal Challengers went down to the Deccan Chargers by 13 runs.

Kumble said in the press conference, “He has won us a couple of games earlier but today he got stuck. He should have gone after the bowling in the first six overs but it did not happen today. He should have made a move-on which did not happen today and that put pressure on the guys coming in.”

Kumble was also protective about his team-mate, Dravid, who got out at the wrong time. Kumble, when asked whether he should have played a little more sensibly, said that when he does that, people call him mild. He said, “Unfortunately he got out at the wrong time.”
