Kochi franchise allege breach of confidentiality by Modi
The IPL has run into controversy over the ownership issue of the new franchise that owns the IPL team of Kochi. The ise has been over the making public of the shareholding pattern of the Kochi consortium and Lalit Modi is at the centre of the storm.
It has been reported that Lalit Modi posted the break-up of the shareholding pattern of Kochi on his Twitter.
According to one of the posts that Modi has put up on his Twitter account, he has said, “Kochi consortium break-up is: Rendezvous Sports 1%, Anchor 27%, Parinee [Developers] 26%, Film Waves Combine 12%, Anand Shyam 8%, Vivek Venugopal 1% with Rendezvous having an additional 25% free equity. That equity is held by Kisan, Shailender and Pushpa Gaikwad, Sunanda Pushkar, Puja Gulathi, Jayant Kotalwar, Vishnu Prasad, Sundip Agarwal.”
It is also said that the Kochi consortium is not happy about the way in which the details were divulged and have written to the BCCI regarding the same. According to a report in Times of India, the BCCI, on its part, has allegedly admonished Modi about the same, but the IPL chief came out all guns blazing.
When asked by the media about this, Modi dispelled any query by saying that he had not divulged any confidential information. He also said that whatever was discussed with the Board was an internal matter and not for public consumption.
According to the Times of India, Modi has also said that when he asked the Kochi consortium about who were all the members, he was asked to keep quiet by Shashi Tharoor.
