Kaneria refutes spot-fixing claims, may take legal action
Pakistani leg-spinner, Danish Kaneria, has said that he was not involved in any wrong-doing related to match-fixing or spot-fixing in the English county circuit.
Earlier, the Essex Cricket had said that the police were investigating the role of two of their cricketers in match irregularities. Kaneria had been one of the names mentioned by a tabloid in UK in the connection of these investigations.
Kaneria said that the only reason why he was back in Pakistan was because he wanted to participate in the Pentangular. Kaneria also said that he was looking at taking the legal recourse against the newspaper.
The PCB has said that they will look at taking any action against the player only if there was proof of his involvement in any such irregularity.
