Mohammad Asif sued by former girlfriend Veena Malik
The leading newspaper in India, Times of India has reported that Mohammad Asif, the Pakistani pace bowler is being sued by an ex-girl friend now.
The paper reported that Asif’s former girl friend, Veena Malik, sent the player a legal notice after it was found that a couple of the cheques that the player sent her had bounced. According to Veena Malik, the cheques were worth Rs.11.3 million (more than a crore Pakistani rupees).
Malik, who is an actress said that she had stood by him during his worst crisis, and had lent him the money after Asif promised to return it back once he started playing cricket. However, it was recently announced that the cricketer would marry a girl chosen by his parents and that is when Malik demanded her money back.
Veena Malik said that Asif refused to pick up calls from her and that left her with no option but to take the legal recourse.
Earlier, Shoaib Malik was sued by his former wife, when he had announced to the world that he was going to marry Sania Mirza. Shoaib then had to agree to divorce his former wife.
