Shoaib Malik-Ayesha Siddiqui case moving towards settlement
The Shoaib Malik-Ayesh Siddiqui case seems to be fast moving towards closure with the former Pakistan captain Malik expected to apply for divorce and the Siddiquis expected to take back their police case against the cricketer.
The announcement was made at a press conference at the Siddiquis’ house, and was represented by the Mirzas and the Siqqiduis. Sania’s uncle Shafi said that the complaint would be withdrawn whereas Malik would give Ayesha a divorce. In turn, he would also pay Ayesha maintenance which is a must under the Islamic laws.
This would mean that Shoaib Malik would now be able to marry Sania Mirza, the Indian tennis star.
Ayesha’s mother said, “I am very happy about it. All community leaders have come to him (Shoaib) to do the settlement and he has done it. Finally justice has been done to my daughter.”
Earlier, the Siddiquis had lodged a complaint against Malik for cheating, harassment and intimidation of their daughter, Ayesha. Shoaib’s passport had then been seized by the police.
Malik had then said that he had married Ayesha over the telephone, not knowing who was he marrying.
