Shoaib Malik says he was cheated into marriage with Ayesha

Pakistan cricketer, Shoaib Malik has said that he was cheated into a nikah over the telephone with a girl whom he thought was Ayesha. Malik also said that it turned out that the girl he ended up marrying was not the girl whose photographs had been shown to him.

Shoaib Malik is in Hyderabad for his marriage to tennis star Sania Mirza, and finally released a press release stating his side of the story. He has said in the press release that he was shown a lot of photographs of the girl whom he thought he had married to but he never met her.

Malik also added that every time he would bring about the topic of meeting her, there would be one or the other excuse forthcoming. In the end, Malik adds, he came to know about the truth rather accidentally, and that is when he realised that the girl whom he had married to – Ayesha – was whom he thought was Maha Apa, or the elder sister of Ayesha

Malik said, “In 2008, my lawyer sent a legal notice to Mr MA Siddiqui. After that, he stopped making false allegations, until of course, news of my marriage to Sania Mirza became public.”
