Preview and Live Streaming of IPL2010 match Rajasthan Royals v Deccan Chargers at Jamtha, Nagpur
Nagpur it is! The newest IPL venue will play host to the 36th game of the third edition of the IPL between Rajasthan Royals and the Deccan Chargers and as is the case at this stage of the competition, it will be a vital match for at least one of the two sides, in terms of staying back in the competition.
With Deccan Chargers having suddenly embraced a losing spree, it becomes rather pertinent for them to get moving in the points table and notch up their fourth win of the tournament; a failure to do so will almost make them the second side after the Kings XI Punjab to be relegated to a next-to-impossible probability of making it to the semi-final.
On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals have not had a great run in the recent past; having lost to Delhi and Chennai in quick succession and all of a sudden lost the momentum. The top four teams in the points table have 14, 12 and 10 points respectively, whereas three sides are tied at eight each. If Chargers win this one, they will join Chennai, Rajasthan and Kolkata on eight points, but if the Royals do manage to shake that ‘ordinary’ tag off, they will be tied with the Bangalore side on ten.
Team News:
The Deccan Chargers have tried many a thing and one almost hopes for their sake that Dwayne Smith gets a look-in for this game. Unfortunately, they have not been able to get the best out of Kemar Roach, who would have found the flat pitches of India a difficult proposition. So did Ryan Harris. One gets the sense that Smith would almost do a similar job; four overs for 30-35 runs that Roach and Harris have been getting, but would also be able to bat much better down the order. RP Singh looked to be getting back into business, but he will need to be more consistent to create any impression.
Despite their loss to the Super Kings, the good news for Rajasthan was obviously the comeback of Shane Watson and his subsequent knock with the bat. Watson is the form of his life, and his purpler than purple patch could be seen in that Chennai match. Not only does he add the requisite batting strength to an already decent line-up consisting of Adam Voges, Michael Lumb, Naman Ojha and Yusuf Pathan, but also brings about the penetration through his bowling. Sumit Narwal could be replaced after his rather ordinary performance in the game.
Head-to-Head:
4-1 to the Rajasthan Royals and the way it is going for them, it does not look like the Chargers have any answers! Plus, it remains to be seen whether Adam Gilchrist has recovered enough from his injury.
The Odds Checker:
Surprisingly, nothing much to choose from. Coral offers 10/11 for a Deccan Chargers win, and its 1/1 from Sporting Bet on Rajasthan Royals!
