Ricky Ponting says Australia well-prepared for Ashes
Ricky Ponting has said that the Australian side are fully prepared to regain the Ashes that they had lost to England in 2009.
The two sides, Australia and England fight for the Ashes in Australia later this year. In the previous edition of the Ashes, that was played in England, the hosts had beaten Australia 2-1 to clinch the urn.
However, Ponting is said to be very happy with the way the summer has gone for the Australians, after they blanked Pakistan 3-0, and West Indies and New Zealand were also routed 2-0 respectively.
Ponting added that his team had ticked every box, and the guys like Doug Bollinger and Ryan Harris had come on well in the last few months while taking the place of the likes of Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus.
The Australian captain said, “There were probably some question-marks over our Test cricket before the summer started, being a little bit inconsistent through the Ashes series.” However, he added that he was proud at the way things had gone after the Ashes.
