Kumar Sangakkara banned for one IPL game
Kings XI Punjab skipper Kumar Sangakkara has been banned for one match by the IPL for not bowling the overs within the prescribed time for the third time in the tournament.
Already, the IPL has fined three captains in the tournament, a sum of $20,000 each, for not bowling the overs within the stipulated time. Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir, apart from Sangakkara, were fined that money early on in the tournament. Sangakkara was fined $40,000 after having repeated his offence.
It has led to the captains asking their bowlers to get quickly back to their bowling mark and deliver the overs.
Punjab has now lost five out of the six games that they have played and languishing at the bottom of the table. It remains to be seen who will now captain the Punjab side.
