Ravindra Jadeja ban to stay, Aaron Finch joins Royals

The IPL has decided that Ravindra Jadeja’s ban for the third edition of the tournament will stay as applied earlier.

Earlier, Jadeja and the two teams involved in the controversy, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians had got into a plea to hear Jadeja’s case again. Jadeja was banned by the IPL governing council because he failed to sign a contract with Rajasthan Royals, his side for two years and was negotiating a contract with the Mumbai Indians.

The Mumbai Indians have also been reprimanded for the part they played in the controversy. The case was heard by DDCA President, Arun Jaitley.

This will mean that the Rajasthan Royals will continue to go without Jadeja for the rest of the tournament.

Aaron Finch, the Victorian batsman, will join the Rajasthan Royals team in place of Graeme Smith.
