Preview and Live Streaming of IPL2010 match Rajasthan Royals v Deccan Chargers at Motera

Harsha Bhogale says that the Rajasthan Royals have added a romantic streak to the tournament by winning two games in a row, but he also adds in the same breath that the Deccan Chargers could prove a little too much for them at Motera in Ahmedabad. Difficult to dispute that judgement given the manner in which the Royals have played so far in the tournament, and given the line-up that the Chargers possess.

A Rajasthan fan may say that the critics had said the same about the Royals even in the first edition of the IPL and yet, we all know how those predictions turned out to be.

The difference, one believes, between that Rajasthan Royals side and this one is a rather basic one; Shane Warne’s form. It looks evident to one and all that Warne isn’t bowling to the best of his ability and one almost gets the feeling that, for now, and if one were to be really harsh, one could term him as the non-performing captain of the tournament.

Even in the previous game against the Kings XI Punjab, Manvinder Bisla took to him in much the same manner as Sachin Tendulkar had in the late 1990s, and Warne looked almost helpless.

In front of Warne, would be his old adversary, Adam Gilchrist. The two hadn’t shared much of a relationship in the Australian dressing room, and it will be interesting to see whether any of that spills over to the battle-field tomorrow.

Team News:
Rather surprisingly, Rajasthan has decided to send back Damien Martyn from the side, but what was more surprising was the fact that he was even chosen in the first place. Usually such sacking affect the morale of the side, but judging by the way in which Martyn took it, it does seem like he saw it coming. Apart from that, one cannot see any changes to the playing eleven for the Aussies. Adam Voges will be the key and adds that much more balance to the middle order and takes the pressure off Yusuf Pathan’s shoulders. I would be interested to see if Voges is able to bowl his full quota of overs.

It has been five days since the Deccan Chargers played and beat Delhi Daredevils and the break could affect the momentum. The good bit about the Chargers’ batting was that everyone seemed to be contributing and getting starts. The flip to that is that while chasing a big enough total, at least one of the batsmen needs to get going with a really big score, something that Adam Gilchrist could be looking at given that he has had many starts but no real big score going his way after the first half century.

Head-to-Head:
The Rajasthan Royals had won both the games in the first edition of the IPL, whereas in the second edition, the scores were tied 1-1.

The Odds Checker:
The Chargers, according to Harsha Bhogale, are favourites. So they are according to the punters, who offer 8/13 (Ladbrokes) for their win as compared to 6/4 (Sporting Bet) for Rajasthan winning their third game in a row.
