AB de Villiers takes a stunning catch to dismiss Praveen Kumar
AB de Villiers brought off a ripper of a catch to dismiss Praveen Kumar in the game between Bangalore and Delhi at the M Chinnaswamy.
Praveen Kumar had come out to bat when the Bangalore side needed 47 runs off 17 balls and with three wickets remaining. The Bangalore side needed boundaries and sixes regularly, and Praveen Kumar tried to smack the debutant Umesh Yadav to the long-on boundary.
AB de Villiers is one of the best fielders in the business and he made a couple of steps back, before realising that the shot was flat and hence would have probably gone over him. And then, in a manner of Adam Bacher at Cape Town in 1998 dismissing Sachin Tendulkar, AB de Villiers plucked the high-speed ball out of thin air.
For a moment, one thought that AB de Villiers had dropped it as he remained flat on the ground. But, that smile said it all, as de Villiers got up and was hugged by Dave Warner and Virender Sehwag.
