Preview and Live Streaming of IPL2010 match Royal Challengers Bangalore v Chennai Super Kings at M Chinnaswamy, Bangalore
After that nerve-wracking loss to the Kings XI Punjab, in a game that the Chennai Super Kings should have won, the Chennai side will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 18th game of the Indian Premier League.
The match will be played at the M Chinnaswamy at Bangalore and will see the hosts go into it with three wins from three successive games after having lost the first match.
Chennai currently have two wins from two games and will know that the competition in the tournament this time around is such that in the end, it is going to be a matter of one game that will separate the men from the boys. And hence, the Super Kings cannot afford losses like the one against the Kings XI Punjab.
Team News:
There is no reason for someone to believe that the Bangalore side will make any changes to the playing eleven. Bangalore’s bowling has been a revelation in the tournament so far and that will mean that the likes of Dale Steyn, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar and Anil Kumble dominating the proceedings really well. The batting has been a talking point too, but most of it has been dominated by Kallis, who has had four successive unbeaten innings to his name. What is more is that Kallis has looked like he has got into a zone of his own, unhurried, unflustered and does not look like getting out. The flip to that is that the others will need to take responsibility of the situation once he does get dismissed, especially if it happens earlier.
There is a decent chance that MS Dhoni may join the team for the game. Dhoni had been injured in the Kolkata game and since then, has missed two games. Suresh Raina’s captaincy has been quite decent as well, but the last game loss to Punjab will hurt. The side was cruising really well, and should have packed the side off, but what happened instead was a touch of hara-kiri. Credit, of course, must be given where it was due and one thought that the side bowled really well to be able to restrict the high-scoring personnel from Punjab. The good news is that Albie Morkel is finally showing signs of getting out of the atrocious slump while Ashwin and Muralitharan are doing well as spinners too.
Could very well be a match-up between two really good bowling sides, and the team that bats better could have an advantage.
Head-to-Head:
2-2 in the league stages of both the competition, while the fifth game between the two teams, played in the semi-final of the 2009 edition of the tournament was won by Bangalore thanks to Manish Pandey’s 48 and Dravid’s 46.
The Odds Checker:
The Royal Challengers Bangalore will go into the game as favourites after having won three successive games. Bwin offer 11/13 for their win, while it is evens for Chennai to win it, offered by Stan James.
