VVS Laxman joins the injured list, goes off to hospital for check-up
VVS Laxman joined the rest of the IPL players in the list of injured cricketers in the IPL when he was hit on his left hand by a stray throw by Shalabh Srivastava. This happened in Deccan Chargers’ game against the Kings XI Punjab at Cuttack.
Laxman had driven the ball from S Sreesanth down to the mid-on and was off to a quick single. Srivastava then picked up the ball at mid-on and tried to aim at the stumps but managed only to hit Laxman, who was at least 4-5 yards away from the mark, running on the adjacent strip.
Laxman retired hurt and was replaced by Andrew Symonds at the crease. Laxman was last seen being taken to the hospital to get his hand X-rayed.
Before this, Graeme Smith, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni have all been injured in only the first ten games of the tournament so far.
