PCB annuls contracts for Younis and Yousuf

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s tirade against the penalised cricketers has continued as the PCB ignored four of those seven penalised, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Shoaib Malik and Naved-al-Hasan Rana, from the central contract. The four had been handed over penalties of varying magnitude by the PCB for discipline issues.

Apart from these four, the one other player who has been ignored is Shoaib Akhtar, who had recently threatened to sue to PCB for fining him a hefty sum of money.

From the others, Mohammad Asif, who has been banned for doping earlier, by the PCB gets an A Category contract, and as does ICL-return Abdul Razzaq.

Despite the penalties to Kamran Akmal and Shahid Afridi, both have been awarded Category A contracts, while Umar Akmal has been given the Category B contract. The other Category A contracts have been given to Umar Gul, Salman Butt and Danish Kaneria. Misbah-ul-haq has a category B contract.

A stipend system has also been introduced for the good performances and for budding cricketers.
