MS Dhoni has been ruled out of the third edition of the Indian Premier League for the next ten days at least.
Dhoni was injured during his man of the match-winning half century – a 66 off only 33 balls – off a short ball from Shane Bond as it took the edge of the bat and hit his elbow.
This will mean that he could miss around three games in the interim period. Suresh Raina will get his first opportunity to captain the side, while Parthiv Patel will be the wicket-keeper for the Super Kings.
Currently, the Super Kings have one win from two matches. Dhoni’s injury follows another high-profile cricketer, Graeme Smith, having to return back to South Africa due to his finger injury and miss the entire IPL.
