Graeme Smith to miss IPL

South African captain Graeme Smith has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League this season after it was diagnosed that he had a fracture to his finger. Smith injured his finger while catching Virender Sehwag in Rajasthan’s last game against Delhi and immediately left the field.

Smith had already had a finger injury before this in the series against Australia and then missed the ODIs in India with a similar finger injury. Jacques Kallis had captained the South Africans in his place in India.

He was just declared fit before the start of the IPL, but now, with another finger injury hurting his chances, he has been ruled out.The Royals will have an option of signing up someone else in his place during the tournament.

Delhi beat the Rajasthan Royals in the previous game of the tournament, in which Smith, Yusuf Pathan and Dimitri Mascarenhas were injured.
