Preview and Live Streaming of Mumbai Indians v Rajasthan Royals
Mumbai Indians begin their campaign today with a big game against the Rajasthan Royals. Not as much for the teams, as the fans would consider this a match between two huge champions; Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne. What remains to be is whether Tendulkar actually manages to face Warne, or whether Warne brings him onto bowl when Tendulkar is still at the crease.
Team News:
Sachin Tendulkar will be bereft of his West Indian stars. And stars they both are, given that they are two of the best all-rounders in the world in this format of the game; Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard. Both are in the Caribbean, trying to assist their team in winning a series against Zimbabwe. While the bowling department looks reasonably strong, with the presence of both, Zaheer Khan, Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh, and not to mention the support staff in Dhawal Kulkarni and Abhishek Nayar, it is the batting that needs a tad looking at. Beyond Tendulkar and the out-of-form Sanath
Jayasuriya, there is hardly anyone to carry the side home.
The Rajasthan Royals will also depend heavily on their opening pair of Graeme Smith and Swapnil Asnodkar. However, the one ace that they will have up their sleeve – and down the order! – is Yusuf Pathan, who has had an excellent season at the domestic level. Munaf Patel and Morne Morkel will lead the bowling line-up, but there is a good chance that the fans will get to see Shaun Tait letting it rip at his customary 150 km/h.
Head-to-Head:
The two teams have played each other four times out of which one game was abandoned. Rajasthan lead the head-to-head 2-1, but the games have been as close as they can get; the Royals twice escaping with final ball finishes.
The Odd(s) Corner:
Mumbai Indians will go into the game one-up on Rajasthan; at 8/11 (Ladbrokes) as compared to the offer of 13/10 at Boylesports for a Rajasthan win.
