Kings XI Punjab add Juan Theron to IPL squad

Kings XI Punjab have bolstered their pace bowling department by signing up South African pace bowler, Juan ‘Rusty’ Theron for the Indian Premier League. Rusty plays for the Warriors in South Africa and had ended the MTN40 Domestic series with the most number of wickets in the tournament.

He had finished the tournament with 18 wickets at an average of less than 19 runs per wicket.

Rusty has yet to play in any international cricket so far. But, he is a part of the 30 member preliminary side that the South African selectors have declared for the ICC World T20. A strong performance in IPL could open the doors for his international selection as well.

Punjab is struggling with the fitness of some of its bowlers, with Brett Lee and Jerome Taylor ruled out of almost the entire tournament. Irfan Pathan may also not feature in the first few games given his fitness worries due to which, he was kept out of the 30-member squad for the ICC World T20.
